This course for contractors and employees is intended to train and certify participants for successful completion to issue work permits under the Chevron Work Permit System. It is a specially developed course under the supervision and approval of Chevron. Meets the requirements and conditions to grant a valid certification for Chevron.
This course is mixed modality. That is to say, develops in two parts: a first part, that corresponds to the study of safe work practices is done entirely online. The second part, what is optional, as it grants an additional certification to the first, It is done in person and it is where the skills to issue work permits are evaluated.
Corresponds to Safe Work Practice standards and corresponds to Chevron Petroleum Company standards.
The online part covers the basic knowledge, minimum and necessary corresponding to the following work practices for high risk activities:
- Risk analysis,
- Gas Detection and Measurement,
- Work at Height,
- Hot Work,
- Entrance to Confined Space,
- Trenches and Excavations,
- Isolation,
- Energized Electrical Work, Y
- Work Permit System.
By studying these practices, the student will be able to choose the most appropriate control to reduce risk according to Chevron's world standards..
The different modules that make up the course are designed to allow you to study at any time and at your own pace and to offer you the opportunity to assess the degree of learning of the knowledge through online tests.
It is aimed at employees and contractors of companies that perform work in fuel facilities for Chevron.
The course is of a mixed type (blended), that is to say, has two parts: in the first part, participants using this online study platform, must study the safe work practices material and take a series of knowledge tests online.
In the second stage, The Instructor of this course travels to the place that is agreed and during 2 days (16 hours) all participants take part in a workshop to assess skills, which by the design of the experience is done with a maximum of 6 people. At the end of the two stages you can obtain the certification.

Participants are in the possibility of opting for a certification of the first part only. This certificate of compliance is not valid for performing work at Chevron facilities.
